Canon EF-S lenses on Canon RF
Does a Canon EF-S lens fit a Canon RF body?
Yes, with a simple adapter and no loss of image quality. Canon EF-S has a flange focal distance of 44.0 mm and Canon RF has 20.0 mm, leaving 24.0 mm for the adapter to occupy. Because the adapter contains no glass, the lens performs exactly as it does on its native mount.
Autofocus: Full autofocus
Works exactly as EF does. The body detects the APS-C image circle and switches to crop mode automatically, so a 24 MP full-frame body yields around 9 MP. Note that EF-S lenses cannot be used on a full-frame Canon SLR at all — the rear element fouls the mirror — so mirrorless is the only way to put them on a full-frame body.
